Kazakhstan officially is the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is a democratic, secular, unitary, constitutional republic. Kazakhstan is the world's largest landlocked country, and the ninth largest country in the world. It is a transcontinental country largely located in Asia, and most of western parts are in Europe. Kazakhstan extends from the Caspian Sea in the west to the Altai Mountains at its eastern border with China and Russia. Its largest metropolis, Almaty, is a long-standing trading hub whose landmarks include Ascension Cathedral, a tsarist-era Russian Orthodox church, and the Central State Museum of Kazakhstan, displaying thousands of Kazakh artifacts.



Kazakhstan is the richest country in the region due to its large oil and natural gas reserves. The country is one of the most overlooked and unexplored destinations by many. Its stunning natural attractions are incredibly diverse. The world’s 9th largest country stretches across one million square miles of snow-capped mountains, deep canyons, vast swaths of steppes, and arid deserts of Central Asia. The most populated city in Kazakhstan is Almaty which served as the capital from 1929 until 1997. Other popular cities are Nur-Sultan (formerly Astana) which became Kazakhstan's capital in 1997, Shymkent, Karaganda, Taraz, and Pavlodar.
