Nepal, officially the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, is a landlocked country in South Asia. It is located mainly in the Himalayas, but also includes parts of the Indo-Gangetic Plain. It is known for its temples and Himalayan mountains, which include Mt. Everest. Kathmandu, the capital, has a mazelike old quarter filled with Hindu and Buddhist shrines. Around Kathmandu Valley are Swayambhunath, a Buddhist temple with resident monkeys; Boudhanath, a massive Buddhist stupa; Hindu temples and cremation grounds at Pashupatinath; and the medieval city of Bhaktapur.



Nepal is identified as the country that is home to Mount Everest and eight of the world’s tallest mountains, it also has epic views and natural surroundings that are undeniably spectacular. Though it is not an everyday type of holiday destination, the unspoiled natural world most definitely attracts a lot of adventure junkies and nature lovers.



The cultural richness of Nepal is unparalleled. Tourists can visit the seven cultural sites listed in the UNESCO World Heritage sites. These sites include Durbar Squares, stupas, and temples. The several ethnic groups residing throughout the country have their own art, traditions, and rituals that make Nepal a cultural core. Another contributing factor to the popularity of Nepal is the biodiversity which is pretty diverse. Nepal boasts a number of endangered birds and animals, some of which are found only in Nepal.


As you are planning your trip, know that certain times of the year are cheaper to travel than others. Everyone knows flights will be more expensive around a holiday, but there are lots of other factors that determine how much you’ll pay for that flight or hotel. Do your research, play around with dates, and decide how many days you can afford to be there.
